Good and Bad Logos

Logos are what represent the company so it is essential to make sure that it is right for your brand.

Here is one example of a logo that has various flaws:

Sans serif is unprofessional/irresponsible. The roundedness of the font presents a juvenile appearance which is not suited for the company the are representing.

The colourfulness of the logo also makes is seem playful and as if it is advertising something that is fun and exciting where as this in not the case and so it may cause confusion as this is far from what  they are selling.

It is also slightly difficult to read what is says as the ‘P’ in Paws is not fully clear. This makes the sign far too complex and busy especially alongside the colours and images making to be a logo usable in different platforms which may require is to be quite a small image, for example, on a business card.

For my example for a good logo is something almost everyone in the world is able to recognise instantly and this is because it works so well as an effective logo.

The apple icon has changed several times, adjusting the general audience’s preference’s in aesthetics. the current image is a simple silhouette of a bitten apple. The minimalist approach is highly popular as it is easy to recognise. The black and white also aids in the simplistic appearance, this gives the look of a sleek logo design that looks classy and expensive.
